INHERITED GENETIC DISORDER

Disorders caused due to change in the chromosomes or DNA are called Inherited Genetic Disorders. Symptoms of some genetic disorders can be noted in fetal life (during pregnancy) whereas in others they manifest only in adulthood. A family history may not be present in all cases. Precise identification of the underlying genetic disorder helps in management and prevention. Genetic testing is aimed towards confirming the underlying variation (change) which is responsible for the suspected genetic disorder.
